Kansas Christian Scores Seven Runs in Two Innings
Dallas Christian got on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd inning on a double steal of 2nd base and home plate. Kansas Christian tied it up in the top of the 3rd on a single to left field by Manny Valenzuela. Two batters later, Jesus Reyes doubles to center field to score Valenzuela. Two batter after that, Kris Davis hit a sac fly to right field, scoring Marcos Franjul from 3rd base.
The Crusaders got 1-run back on a single to left field. Drew Lippold and Chris Hunter each doubled in the 4th inning and pushed the lead back to 2-runs. Valenzuela walks and Franjul hit a 3-run bomb to left-center, giving the Falcons a 5-run lead. Emmett LaFluer struggled through the forth inning by surrendering a walk, single, walk, single and giving up two-runs back to Dallas Christian, but he did secure his 2nd win of the season. Jose Ballista relieved LaFluer in the 5th inning and shut down the Crusaders. Ballista gave up 1-hit and struck out five to secure his 5th save on the season.
Lippold went 4-5 with 2-runs, 2-doubles and is hitting a team high .411 (46/112). Valenzuela went 2-4, 2-runs, 2-rbi (30-leads the team). Franjul hit his 4th HR on the season (tied with Valenzuela). Reyes collected two more doubles (2nd on the team with ten).
