Falcons Clipped in Double OT at Graceland
Kansas Christian men's basketball rallied from a double digit deficit on the road at Graceland last night before falling in double overtime by a final score of 98-97. Graceland is an NAIA member and plays in the Heart of America Conference.
The Falcons trailed by 10 points with just over two minutes to play, but full court pressure and second chance points gave the Falcons a chance. A run out dunk by Graceland put them up four with just a few seconds left in regulation, but Graceland was called for a technical foul that allowed the Falcons two free throws and the ball. Jahreese Jordan hit both free throws and the Falcons scored to tie the game to force overtime.
In overtime, the teams went back and forth pushing the game to a second overtime. In the second overtime, the Falcons built up a five point lead, but Graceland would trim the deficit back to one point before a Graceland turnover gave the Falcons the ball with five second left. Kansas Christian turned over the inbounds pass and a Graceland bucket with 0.9 seconds left in the game put the Falcons behind. The Falcons did manage a full court pass to Jamal Clark who was hit hard trying to shoot a layup but no foul was called and the Falcons fell by one.
Elazar Conley went off for his highest point total of the season and managed a double-double behind 32 points and 12 rebounds. Jamal Clark and Jahreese Jordan each had 14 points, and Noah Brooks had 12 points to go with four blocked shots. Jay Washington played all 50 minutes in the game.
