Falcons Come Up Short in Exhibition Stretch

The Kansas Christian men's basketball team played in three exhibitions last week with games against MidAmerica Nazarene University, the University of Central Oklahoma, and East Central University.

The Falcons began their stretch of exhibition games with a short trip across town to Olathe, Kan. where they took on MidAmerica Nazarene, and NAIA opponent in the Heart of America Conference. The Falcons trailed by just 12 at halftime, but MidAmerica pulled away for a 92-58 victory in the second. Jamal Clark tallied a team high 21 points and Elazar Conley scored 17 points in the loss. 

The men's basketball team travled to Oklahoma for their final two exhibition games of the week with the first coming against NCAA Division II opponent, the University of Central Oklahoma. The Falcons started slow scoring just 19 points in the first half and Central Oklahoma pulled away for a 116-52 victory when the final horn sounded. Elazar Conley scored 17 points once again again grabbed a team high seven rebounds for the Falcons. 

In the final game of the week, Kansas Christian took on East Central University. The Falcons went step for step against the NCAA Division Ii program trailing by just four at halftime but ran out of gas in the second half as East Central went on to a 97-76 win. Jamal Clark led all scorers in the game with 27 points. Jay Washington and Elazar Conley each added 16 and Boog Lewis finished with 11 points. 

Kansas Christian now prepares for their trip to Florida during Thanksgiving week where they will play a trio of games. On Monday, the Falcons compete in an exhibition game against Ave Maria Univeristy in Miami, Fla. Wednesday brings an NCCAA matchup with the University of Fort Lauderdale, and the Falcons close out the week with another exhibition against St. Thomas University.
