Falcons Sweep First Home Games

The Kansas Christian men's basketball team cruised to two wins in their first two home games this weekend. The wins improve the Falcons to 6-6 on the season. 

In the win over Oak Hills, the Falcons scored a season high 66 first half points and led by 25 at the break. Kansas Christian continued to add to the lead in the second half scoring over 100 points for the second time this season in a 117-78 win. 

Isaac Lane and Kaiden Hunter scored a team high 16 points with Lane also grabbing 14 rebounds to complete the double-double. Gavin Jones went 4 for 7 from three scoring 14 points. Jones also had seven rebounds. Fernando Carvalho added 12 points. Bobby Talbot scored six points hitting two three point shots in his first varsity game of the season. 

On Saturday, the Falcons beat Central Christian College of the Bible 97-69 for their second win in less than 24 hours. Another strong first half gave the Falcons a 21 point first half lead as they narrowly missed scoring 100 points for the second consecutive game. 

Oscar Traylor led all scorers with 24 points. He also had a team high 11 rebounds. Traylor was five for five from the free throw line and three for five from three point land. He shot eight of 11 overall from the field. Two other Falcons joined Traylor in posting double-doubles. Malik Martin had 14 points and 10 rebounds while Isaac Lane had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kevon Williams had 11 points in the win as well. 

Monday's game against Manhattan Christian is cancelled due to winter weather in the area, so the Falcons will resume play at Calvary on Tuesday, January 9 at 7pm.
