Bio

Dr. Jim Poteet is a graduate of Pasadena College with a B.A. in Physical Education and has since earned a M.A. in Athletic Administration from California State University and an Ed.D. in Applied Educational Studies and Sports Management from Oklahoma State University. He has worked in collegiate athletics as a coach, professor, and administrator since 1964.He was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2014.

For the past seven years, Poteet has served as the Director of Athletic Development at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma. During his time there, he was instrumental in leading the effort to bring approximately 500 new students to campus. He also was instrumental in developing and starting a new degree in Sports Management, a program which today has more than 200 students enrolled.
