The Kansas Christian men's soccer team hosted Spurgeon College on Thursday at Scheels Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan. The Falcons jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they topped the Knights 7-1. The Falcons are now 3-3 on the season and ranked #6 in the NCCAA.
The Falcons struck first with a goal early in the first half. By halftime, the Kansas Christian had a 3-1 lead and looked in control of the match. In the second half, the Falcons continued to add on to their lead with four more goals.
Roberto Mugabe led the offense with two goals. Tluang Thang, Fred Muganza, Ombeni Mugenwa, and Riuben Basubeche each scored one goal. Thang also had two assists while Basubeche and Angel Hernandez had one assist each. Joao Dos Reis made five saves and allowed one goal. Adem Adem filled in at goal to end the game and made one save.
The Falcons now look to their next matchup on Friday, September 23 when they travel to McPherson, Kan. and take on Central Christian College at 5:30pm.
