For the third time this season, the Kansas Christian College men's soccer team took on an NAIA opponent and though the result of loss remained the same, the Falcons put up their best showing against an NAIA team this season.
The first goal of the match came in the 27th minute giving Avila the 1-0 lead in the first half. However, Will Derbyshire made 10 saves in goal, keeping the Falcons in the match until the finish. The Falcons narrowly missed a few opportunities as Tyler Smalley got off four shots , three needing the keeper to save them. Javier Sanchez also got off a shot on goal, but the scoring opportunities were limited for the Falcons in the loss.
With progress being made, the Falcons return to NCCAA play today as they take on Randall University in Moore, Oklahoma.
