Falcons Fly Over Ecclesia

The Kansas Christian College men's soccer team got back in the win column on Wednesday in a home match against the Ecclesia College Royals at Scheels Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan. The Falcons snapped a five game losing streak with the win and their overall record is now 3-7 on the season.

Battling through injuries to some key returning players, the Falcons used a penalty kick from Ben Harper in the 61st minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead in the second half. The Falcons managed just four other shots in the game but took advantage of their one opportunity in the win. Ecclesia took 14 shots in the match putting eight on goal. William Derbyshire would save every shot on goal in the first half. Gabriel Farenzena made five more saves as he took over duties in the second half of the match. The two goalies combined for eight saves to give the Falcons the shutout victory.

The next match for the Falcons was scheduled for October 14 against Manhattan Christian but the Thunder have canceled the rest of their soccer season which will give Kansas Christian a forfeit win and improve their record to 4-7. The men's soccer team has now added a new match against Ozark Christian on October 11 with the time being announced at a later date.
