Cross Country Shows Well at Billy Mills Classic
The Kansas Christian cross country team competed at the Billy Mills Classic hosted by Haskell Indian Nations University this weekend in Lawrence, Kan. The Falcons had two runners post personal record times and the team met the national qualifying mark for the second time this season. On the women's side, Elektra Lee set the women's freshmen record in the 5K with a time of 34:41.
For the men, the team posted a time of 2:50.06 with Jadin Kimbrel leading the way at 31:01 which is his new PR. He finished 49th overall. Dante Lopez ran 32:24 to place 63rd. Aaron Wise came in at 79th with a time of 35:41. Kobe Morgan and Jamel Bailey both ran a time of 35:54. It was a personal best time for Bailey and a season best for Morgan.
Head Coach Greg Keeler spoke on the team's performacne saying, "I was happy with our young team's effort today. We gained a lot of experience which will help us as we enter the second half of our season."
The Falcons return to action on Thursday Oct. 14 at the Neosho Community College Quadrangular.
