Cross Country Finishes Regular Season On Strong Note
The Kansas Christian cross country team brought home second place at the Ozark Christian College Last Chance Meet this weekend. It was the final tuneup before the Falcons compete in the NCCAA National Championships Nov. 12 in Joplin, Mo. The course was challenging leading to slower times for most of the field.
Despite the challenging conditions, Dante Lopez recorded his best time of the year at 31:36 in the 8K race which was good enough to place him third overall in the men's race. Kobe Morgan also ran a season best time shaving more than a minute and a half off his previous best this year and coming in at 34:01.
Head Coach Greg Keeler was pleased with his team's performance, "Today was a really good way to finish the regular season and tune up for our mean's team as they get ready to compete in the national championships."
The NCCAA Division II National Championships will be held at Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo on Nov. 12. The men's team will compete in the championships for the third year in a row with Kobe Morgan, Dante Lopez, Jadin Kimbrel, Aaron Wise, Jamel Bailey, and Juan Moultrie making up the team.
