Revenge Win Moves Lady Falcons to 3-0 at Home
A defensive battle broke out on Saturday between Kansas Christian College and the Hesston College Larks. Both teams limited baskets with both teams shooting less than 30% from the field. The Falcons held Hesston to just 26% shooting and only allowed two threes in 23 attempts for the Larks making an 8% shooting percentage from three point range. Kansas Christian fared better from downtown making six three point shots in the win.
After the Falcons got out to a 17-13 lead in the first quarter, both teams were held to single digit scoring in the second period. Kansas Christian had the better end of it outscoring the Larks 7-4 and taking a seven point lead into halftime. A 16-11 advantage for the Falcons in the third quarter pushed their lead to 12 and the Falcons led by as many as 16 points in the game before taking a 58-46 win.
Hayley Diveley once again led all scorers with 21 points despite an off night from three point range. Dively also had nine rebounds. Rayne Dunn-Johnson led the Falcons in rebounds with 10. Brittany Cato tallied 13 points going three for six from three point range. Aleena Elise-Perez added 11 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals doing a little bit of everything for the Falcons.
The women's basketball team will travel to Newman this weekend for an exhibition game before returning home next week to host Grace Christian for their next official contest.
