Women's Volleyball Announces New Head Coach

Adalee "Addy" Martin has been announced as the next Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Kansas Christian College. Addy is taking over the program effective immediately, replacing the former head coach, Doug Dahman. Coach Dahman announced his resignation from the position earlier in the month.

Addy Martin is a multisport athlete who played as an all-round volleyball player and also excelled in track and field. Addy competed as a USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field standout athlete with many accomplishments including qualifying in the 800 meters for  regional and national championships. She has been the record holder in the 400 meters at Pebble Hills High School 6A in El Paso, TX since 2019.

Addy went on to choose volleyball as her primary sport and played on varsity and with national club volleyball teams for many years. Addy was both a player and assistant coach at RapidFire Volleyball, her club team in El Paso, TX. Addy played as a college freshman at the University of South Carolina (USC) Lancaster playing as a Defensive Specialist/Libero. She then transferred to Genessee Community College (GCC) in Batavia, NY where she played as an Outside Hitter and all-around player finishing a
successful season with 211 kills and 221 digs, beating the #1 ranked team in the division in the playoffs. She was named 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Region.

Addy went on to pursue her education and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She started her nursing career caring for patients in the emergency room at University Medical Center of El Paso. Addy is an active volunteer and serves at Abundant Church with the young adult Prime Culture ministry. Volleyball continues to be Addy's passion, and she is excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Head Volleyball Coach at Kansas Christian College.

Vice President of Athletic Advancement at Kansas Christian College, Dr. Jim Poteet said, "we are looking forward to getting Addy here on campus and excited to see the direction she can take our volleyball program." When asked about the goals for the program, Addy replied saying, "my goals for the program include developing incoming athletes athletically and spiritually in a christ-centered environment that would push them to evolve into faithful and mature leaders in our communities."

She continued saying about the opportunity, "I am extremely excited to begin the position and beyond thankful to the Kansas Christian College community for a warm welcome and the opportunity to minister to my young athletes as well as be ministered to by my fellow peers."

Her favorite bible verse is Acts 20:24 - "I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task given to me by the Lord Jesus, the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace."
