Falcons Fall to Eagles

Kansas Christian fought hard in the first half, with Kenneth Hunter and James Lewis keeping the game close through clutch outside shooting. But each time they got within striking distance, Avila answered.

Avila established control early and set the pace for the entire game with aggressive defense and fast-paced offense. The scoring was balanced across the starting lineup, with several players making key contributions on both ends of the floor. Xavier Kahube Jason Ernest both dominated in the paint, combining for powerful dunks and finishing at the rim, while Gio Mack was a steady presence orchestrating the offense and knocking down timely threes.

As the clock wound down on the first half, it became clear that Avila's aggressive offense and tenacious rebounding were making the difference. The duo of Ross III and Kahube kept pouring in baskets, combining for a string of quick points in transition. Mack, Gio was everywhere on the glass, snatching crucial rebounds to ignite the fast break or reset the offense. On the defensive end, blocks by Nwotite and key steals from Ross III and Mack blunted any attempt by Kansas Christian to build momentum.

Kansas Christian showed flashes of brilliance, relying on the hot hand of Lewis, James and perimeter shooting from Hunter, Kenneth. But each time they got within striking distance, Avila answered. By halftime, the scoreboard reflected Avila's balanced attack and ability to capitalize off turnovers, with a cushion they'd look to protect after the break.

Defensively, Avila forced numerous turnovers, capitalizing on Kansas Christian's mistakes and turning them into easy baskets. The depth of Avila's bench was on display, with key minutes and impact from several substitutes, allowing the Eagles to maintain intensity until the final whistle, winning the game 115-81.

The Falcons were led by James Lewis with 19-points while four other players finished in double figures.  Damon Werts & Kenneth Hunter each had 14 points.  Alex Watts chipped in with 11-points and Alcee Culler finished with 10-points.
