Lady Falcons Fall in First Florida Game

The Kansas Christian women's basketball team lost to the University of Ave Maria on Monday night in the first game of their Florida trip this week. It was an exhibition game for the Falcons. Ave Maria is an NAIA opponent that competes out of the Sun Conference. 

Ave Maria took control of the game in the first quarter with a 29-11 advantage over the Falcons. The Gyrenes expanded their lead in the second and the Falcons trailed by a large deficit at halftime. Kansas Christian closed the game strong outscoring Ave Maria in the fourth quarter. 

Brendeja Holloman scored 18 points off the bench to lead the Falcons in scoring. Monique Hunt added 15 points. Hunt also had eight rebounds. Mikalle Lowry led the Falcons in rebounds with 10. Turnovers plagued the Falcons as they had 40 compared to Ave Maria's 18. 

The women's basketball team competes next against the University of Fort Lauderdale next in an official NCCAA game at 2pm CT today.
