Winning Ways Continue at Home for Women's Basketball

For the fourth time this season, the Lady Falcons hosted a game at Cowen Memorial Auditorium and Kansas Christian College has won all four of them. This time the win came at the expense of Grace Christian University out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Kansas Christian started slow as Grace Christian jumped out to a 7-1 lead early on but the Falcons stormed back for a 20-14 lead after the end of the first quarter. The Falcons never trailed again and led by as many as 30 points in the fourth quarter before earning the 85-61 victory.

All five starters scored in double figures for Kansas Christian. Brittany Cato led the way with 18 points. Cato also had the team high in rebounds with 14. Hayley Diveley and Samiya Lewis both scored 17 points. Lewis also had a game high seven steals. Aleena Elise-Perez dished out a season high 10 assists and scored 16 points for the Falcons. Rayne Dunn-Johnson scored 10 points in the win.

Before the game, Kansas Christian recognized Hayley Diveley for scoring the 1000th point of her career earlier in the season. Hayley led the NCCAA Division II in three point shots made last year for the Falcons.

The women's basketball team now hits the winter break with a 5-8 overall record. They will resume play on January 6 when they travel to Moberly, Mo. to take on Central Christian College of the Bible.
